District Attorney Colom Outraises Hyde-Smith More Than 2 to 1 in Q3, Posting Best Quarter of the Campaign

District Attorney Colom raised $1.87 million in the third quarter, nearly doubling his Q2 haul, as his campaign committee raised more than twice what Cindy Hyde-Smith brought in

Campaign’s donor base has more than doubled since July, including Mississippians in all 82 counties

Hyde-Smith spent more than she raised again as a new public poll puts the race within the margin of error

District Attorney Colom: “Mississippians are paying attention, and they’re tired of a senator who works for the special interests instead of them”

Columbus, MS – Today, District Attorney Scott Colom announced he raised $1,874,216 in the third quarter of 2026, outraising incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith more than two to one in the campaign’s best quarter yet, and pushing his total to more than $4.5 million raised since its September 2025 launch.

Colom’s campaign committee raised $1,539,820, more than double the $687,486 Hyde-Smith’s campaign took in, including transfers. An additional $334,396 was raised through the Colom Victory Fund, the campaign’s joint fundraising committee. Hyde-Smith, meanwhile, spent $798,097, more than she raised, and more than a fifth of her contributions came from political action committees.

“We are on-track to win because Mississippians are paying attention, and they’re tired of a senator who works for the special interests instead of them,” said District Attorney Colom. “Cindy Hyde-Smith is spending more than she raises, and we outraised her two to one because Mississippians are done paying more so she can serve AI companies, fertilizer companies and other special interests.”

Colom’s haul was driven by 17,651 individual donors in Q3, nearly five times as many as the quarter before, giving an average contribution of $79. In fact, the campaign’s donor base has more than doubled since the end of Q2. Colom’s Q3 raise includes donations from 4,556 Mississippians, nearly double the total from Q3, with donors in all 82 of the state’s counties.

Colom’s fundraising haul lands as the national political world turns toward Mississippi. A new independent public poll this week found the race within the margin of error. Race rater Sabato’s Crystal Ball moved the race toward Colom. President Obama cut an ad urging Mississippians to send Colom to the Senate. Sen. Raphael Warnock campaigned in Jackson this week, Vice President Kamala Harris rallies in Columbus on October 22, and Secretary Pete Buttigieg campaigns on the Gulf Coast on October 27. The fundraising tells the same story from the ground up: Hyde-Smith’s money comes from the special interests she protects, and Colom’s comes from the people he’s fighting for.

“Every one of those 26,000 donors is somebody saying they’re ready for a senator who shows up for them, that they are ready for change,” said District Attorney Colom. “We’re going to keep earning that trust, one neighbor at a time, all the way to November 3, because Mississippi Matters.”
